From meticulously selected Nebbiolo grapes and grapes raisined for Sforzato, Il Monastero is our red wine with an intense character, aged on the steep slopes of Valtellina.

- Intense ruby red; its aroma ranges from raspberry. violet and ripe plum, to tobacco and chocolate; on the palate it is complex, concentrated, strong in character yet delicate all the same; well-balanced acidity with mature tannins, pleasant woody notes and a good persistence

Like the previous year, the 2021 wine year in Valtellina was characterized by persistent rainfall, which forced us to be very vigilant about plant protection. However, with a lot of time, great efforts and rigorous selection in the vineyard, we were able to bring in grapes of excellent quality. From an enological point of view, the wet vintage meant that the grapes produced a fresh and fruity must, as in 2020, which opens up interesting prospects for a very pleasant wine.
