The wine
From selected grapes of vine fields in the eponymous area, La Palaia is our elegant and concentrated red, exalted by the added nuance of Cabernet Sauvignon, which distinguishes it, earning its place in the line of “Super Tuscans”.

- Dark garnet; an intense and spicy aroma, with juniper, clove and sweet wood notes; rich and profound on the palate, mature and soft tannins, lengthy and different in persistence. Its aromas are confirmed on the palate and supported by noble tannins

The vintage
The weather in Greve in Chianti was characterized by a mild winter and a severe frost in early April, which caused some damage to young shoots. Thereafter, temperatures rose rapidly and vegetation burst forth strongly and luxuriantly. May was very dry and allowed us to significantly reduce treatments until June. Two weeks of rain in June gave us cause for concern. July was exceptionally hot and dry and put the vines under water stress. Then, in late August, the late summer rains advanced the vegetative process optimally so that the grapes could ripen perfectly with slightly fewer grapes.
